DOES YOUR GEAR GAITER KEEP SLIPPING DOWN
VicP writes "If you find your gear gaiter is slipping down you are probably missing the foam cylinder from around the stick. Here is a very simple and inexpensive mod to combat this, especially with an aftermarket gear knob.
You will need one length of 25mm pipe lagging
(any DIY shop) remove the gear knob and then the centre console.
Replace the gear knob and measure from the underside of the knob to the
base of the gear stick. Cut your lagging to this length minus 10mm for
the ring around the inside of the gear gaiter. Shave the top of the
lagging to a fat cone shape (this helps the gaiter hang correctly).
Remove the knob ease the lagging over the gear stick, replace console
and knob and voila your gear gaiter stays in place."
